The mobile phone case for the thermometer: enhanced impact protection for a longer service life in demanding environments.

Anyone who checks temperatures in goods receiving or in the cold store knows the routine: the thermometer is grabbed, set down and sometimes dropped. A dropped device often means a cracked display, a bent probe or a failure. The new fall protection was developed for exactly this everyday reality. It protects the device against mechanical shocks and thereby extends its service life in harsh environments.

One thermometer that combines two measuring methods

The TLC 750i-V2 is a dual infrared and fold-back thermometer for fast incoming goods inspection. It measures surface temperatures contact-free via infrared and core temperatures with a fold-out penetration probe. Both in one pocket-sized device that fits in any trouser pocket.

  • Surface temperature via infrared: contact-free and contamination-free. A dual laser indicates the measurement spot.
  • Core temperature with penetration probe: fold-out, for measurements where the value inside the product matters.
  • Waterproof to IP65: washable and splash-proof. Quick and easy to clean when soiled.
  • Backlit display that can be read upside down: readable in poor lighting conditions and from both sides.
  • HACCP- and DIN EN 13485-compliant, including factory calibration certificate.

Anyone who previously carried two devices, one for surface and one for core temperature, now needs only one.

Operable by everyone: one button, no explanation needed

In practice, what matters is that everyone on the team can operate the device, not just those who are familiar with the technology. The TLC 750i-V2 is built for that. The measurement starts with a single button press. If you want to check the surface temperature, press once. If you want to measure the core temperature, fold out the probe. No menu, no settings, no briefing needed.

That makes the thermometer easy for everyone on the team to use, from the new employee to the experienced colleague in goods receiving. And it reduces the sources of error that arise when devices are more complicated than they need to be.

Compared with similar devices from other manufacturers, the operation of the TLC 750i-V2 is noticeably simpler. Where other thermometers require several buttons, menu levels or settings, one button is enough here. Anyone who carries out many measurements a day in everyday work notices the difference: fewer operating steps, less error susceptibility, less time per measurement.

The fall protection: all-around protection, like a phone case

The fall protection wraps around the entire device and therefore provides all-around protection. How it works and the comparison are quickly explained: it is the phone case for your thermometer. Shock-absorbing design absorbs mechanical shocks and protects the display, housing and sensor against impact loads. This extends the service life of the device in harsh environments.

The device remains fully operable. The fall protection has openings for the display, the fold-out probe needle and the keyboard. Operability is not restricted. And because the case is semi-transparent, the lettering, serial number and notes on the device remain legible.

What about hygiene?

We know that the thought of an attached case immediately raises a question for some: does dirt accumulate between the case and the device? Does that make it unhygienic?

It is a fair question, especially in a food environment. And because the case is an attached component, we take it seriously instead of dismissing it.

Here is how the fall protection addresses the issue:

  • Removable for cleaning. The case can be removed at any time. You clean the case and the device separately and thoroughly, as your hygiene process requires. Nothing remains hidden between the case and the device that cannot be seen and cleaned.
  • Material that can be cleaned. The case is made of washable material and can be cleaned and disinfected just like the thermometer itself.
  • The device remains waterproof. The thermometer retains its IP65 protection class. It remains washable and splash-proof with and without the case.
  • Routine instead of risk. Anyone who includes the case in the regular cleaning routine has no additional hygiene effort, but an additional cleaning step that takes a few seconds.

Hygiene lies in the routine, not in the hope that nothing sticks.

Included from September, without a price increase

From September, all new devices of the TLC 750i and TLC 750i-V2 (non-Bluetooth) will be shipped with the fall protection. List prices will not increase as a result. Anyone purchasing a new device receives the protection automatically.

Anyone who wants to upgrade an existing device can retrofit the fall protection as an accessory. The case can be attached and removed again, so older devices also benefit from the all-around protection.

What you get

A thermometer that combines two measuring methods in one device, is waterproof to IP65 and comes with a factory calibration certificate. Plus a fall protection that wraps around the entire device, absorbs shocks, is removable and can be cleaned along with it. And all of this without a price increase. Together: a device built for the everyday reality in which it actually works.

Please note: The fall protection is not compatible with the TLC 750 BT.
